Profile Assistance

The IAC Center has developed a unique profile assistance program to meet the expressed needs of our clients who are pursuing domestic adoptions with agencies and attorneys.  This program is designed to help you prepare an adoption profile that will work to connect you with prospective birth parents. 

What is the purpose of a pre-adoptive parent profile or what is sometimes called a "Dear Birthmother letter?" 

This letter and picture book is your way of introducing yourselves to an expectant woman who is considering placing her baby for adoption.  It is designed to show her what her baby’s life would be like if she select you as the adoptive parents.

What makes the IAC Center program unique? 

Instead of creating cookie cutter profiles, IAC Center's Profile Advisor will take the time to get to know you and help you to produce a profile that expresses who you are in pictures and in text.  We have found that most prospective birth parents need someone to connect with, not just a Hallmark card type profile.

How do I/we get started with the IAC Center Profile Program?

The IAC Center has created a simple, step-by-step process to assist you in writing your profile. 

To receive our start-up materials including the IAC Center Profile Handout and the IAC Center Questionnaire or if you have any questions first, contact the IAC Center Profile Advisor Lindsay Conover, LSW at lconovermsw@iaccenter.com. She is able to work with you in person and/or on the phone; and these meetings will be easily supplemented by the sharing of materials via email.
