Lauren Jacob, MSW, LSW

lauren-jacobLauren Jacob, MSW, LSW works as an IAC Center Counselor at the Pennington and Marlton office, providing individual, family and group counseling to children, teens and adults. Lauren received her Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University in 2007 as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Adoption Therapy from Rutgers School of Social Work in 2008. With over 10 years of experience in the adoption field, Lauren has a wide ranging perspective on adoption derived from her varied experience within the field.

As an adoption caseworker Lauren worked closely with pre-adoptive parents to complete over 80 adoption placements from 2003-2005. Lauren began her work at the IAC Center, under the supervision of Joni Mantell, LCSW, as a Counseling Intern in 2007, becoming a Counselor upon receiving her MSW.

As a Counselor at the IAC center, Lauren works with children, teens, and adults on both pre and post adoption issues. Additionally, Lauren has extensive experience working with children and teens who are legally free for adoption through the NJ Foster Care system, and birth parents. As an Adoption Support Therapist for a community mental health agency, Lauren provides individual and family therapy to children and teens; as well as assessments, advocacy, case management, consultation in select home placements, and psycho-education to pre and post adopt families
